Dor-Bel International Fine Foods is a family owned and operated business. We are so grateful for the loyal support we have had from our customers and are committed to continuing to offer the highest quality flash frozen foods available.

For the past 15 years Dor-Bel International Fine Foods has been delivering specialty gourmet flash frozen foods directly to Calgary residents homes. Within the last 5 years,  Dor-Bel International Fine Foods has expanded into local indoor and outdoor farmer's markets.

Becoming involved within the market scene has not only been great success but has also improved the already high quality foods that Dor-Bel Fine Foods offers. It has motivated us to find more local, natural and/or organic menu items and has encouraged us to think more about where the foods we order come from.

In 2009 Dor-Bel International Fine Foods took various steps toward improving business practices. Part of our initiative led us to create a partnership with Ocean Wise(tm). A not for profit organization out of the Vancouver Aquarium that  offers restaurants, retailers and suppliers information and guidence pertaining to choosing the most sustainable options for fish and seafood. We are proud to say that we are the first retailer in Alberta to have this partnership, but encourage all other fish and seafood retailers to consider joining this great organization`s efforts! Currently our fish and shellfish menu is aprroximately 80% Ocean Wise approved, we are aiming to have a fully sustainable menu by the end of this year.

More and more we hear about how important it is to purchase locally, not only to reduce carbon footprints but to also support our local farmers, our local economy and local industries. Although we have always offered local chicken and beef, our involvement within the markets has encouraged us to find the best quality and the most naturally raised beef and poultry available locally. We have built relationships with local farmers`that take great pride in the end result of their efforts, with good reason. Our chicken breast is raised locally and naturally with no added hormones, no preseratives, no animal by-products and no force feeding. You can taste the difference! We are proud to say that our Bison is also to that standard and supplied by the best Bison Company here in Alberta, Carmen Creek Gourmet Meats. Their standards, certifications and many awards deem them the most outstanding and most desirable supplier for Bison meat and we are proud to carry their cuts.

In 2012 our mission is to further incorporate environmental stewardship and awareness of our economic impact on our community into our business model.
